Caesars Republic Scottsdale Review: Is This New Hotel a True 5-Star Experience?

We went in expecting a full 5-star experience at the brand new Caesars Republic Scottsdale. What we found was a stunning property with service closer to a 4-star. Here's our honest take.

The brand new Caesars Republic Scottsdale is just 18 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and sits right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. We went in expecting a full luxury 5-star experience, partly because of the Caesars name and partly because of the price tag. What we found was a bit more of a mixed bag. The property is gorgeous and incredibly modern, with a high-energy Scottsdale atmosphere that is genuinely fun. But the service level lands closer to a 4-star hotel than the full white-glove experience you might expect from the price. Here is our honest room tour, amenity breakdown, and final verdict on whether it is worth booking.

The Room: Boynton Canyon Suite

We arrived and checked in early at 2:30 PM. The front desk welcomed us with a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a great touch and set a positive tone right from the start. We booked the Boynton Canyon Suite King Room, one of the larger suite categories in the hotel.

The Highlights: The suite is massive. Two large Samsung Smart TVs, a separate living area with its own seating, and a Peloton bike right in the room for anyone who wants to get a workout in without heading down to the gym. The bathroom is genuinely impressive: a huge waterfall shower, a large soaking tub, and high-end Acca Kappa amenities throughout. Acca Kappa is an Italian brand and it is a noticeably nicer product than the generic hotel toiletries you usually encounter. The overall room design feels very Scottsdale: modern, warm tones, desert-inspired textures, and clean lines.

The Quirks: The minibar is stocked with full-size liquor bottles ranging from about $400 to $550. Room service is handled entirely via QR code rather than a physical menu. Both of these details feel very on-brand for a property leaning into the Scottsdale party and nightlife aesthetic.

The Drawbacks: Our specific suite looked out mostly at an apartment building and the parking structure for Scottsdale Fashion Square. Camelback Mountain is technically visible in the distance, but it is not the dramatic desert view you would hope for at a luxury Scottsdale resort. This is a meaningful thing to flag because views at Arizona properties genuinely vary room to room. Request something specific when you book, especially if a mountain or skyline view matters to you.

Pools, Gym & Dining

The hotel leans heavily into the Scottsdale party and nightlife vibe. If that energy is what you are after, you will absolutely have a great time here. If you prefer a quieter, more serene resort experience, set your expectations accordingly before you arrive.

The Pools: There are two distinct pool experiences. The rooftop pool on the 7th floor sits right next to the hotel's restaurant Seven and is reserved for hotel guests only. Cabanas are available for around $150, and the views from up there are genuinely good. Downstairs, Cleopatra's Pool has a completely different energy: DJ sets during the day, a lively social scene, and the kind of atmosphere you associate with Vegas pool parties transplanted to Scottsdale. Both serve a purpose, and having the two options is a smart design decision for a hotel that draws both couples and larger groups.

The Gym: Honestly disappointing for a hotel at this price point. The equipment selection is basic: standard cardio machines, dumbbells up to 75 lbs, and two Pelotons. The bigger issue is the ceiling height, which is very low. Vincent nearly hit his head doing pull-ups, and anyone over six feet tall will feel cramped. If the gym is an important part of your travel routine, the fitness center here is going to let you down. There are better options in this market if working out is a priority.

Dining: The hotel's main restaurant is Luna by Giada, a massive Italian spot from celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis. We loved it, and the food absolutely held up to the setting. Read our full food review there for all the details. There is also a Pronto Cafe in the lobby for coffee and quick snacks if you need something light before heading out.

The Location: The Real Selling Point

The hotel sits right next to Scottsdale Fashion Square, the largest and most luxurious indoor mall in Arizona. This is genuinely one of the best hotel locations in Scottsdale for anyone who enjoys food, shopping, or nightlife. You can walk to high-end retail, some of the best restaurants in the city, and the buzzing Old Town bar scene without needing a car. For a short trip where you want to explore Scottsdale without worrying about driving and parking, this location is hard to beat.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Stunning, modern design that feels very intentional and premium
  • Excellent room size in the suites with a private Peloton
  • Rooftop pool and Cleopatra's Pool offer two distinct atmospheres for different moods
  • Complimentary champagne at check-in is a lovely touch
  • High-end Acca Kappa bathroom amenities
  • Unbeatable location next to Scottsdale Fashion Square and Old Town nightlife
  • Luna by Giada is a serious restaurant worth visiting on its own merits

Cons:

  • Service feels more like a 4-star than a true 5-star: no dedicated bellboy for luggage, no turndown service
  • Gym is small, cramped, and low-ceilinged
  • Views from many rooms are underwhelming for the price
  • Very high-energy property: not ideal if you want peace and quiet
  • Minibar prices are extremely steep

Final Verdict

Caesars Republic Scottsdale is modern, sleek, and a genuinely fun property if you are looking for a trendy, high-energy Scottsdale experience. The design is legitimately impressive, the location is excellent, and Luna by Giada alone might be worth the trip.

But do not expect the same service level as true 5-star Scottsdale resorts like The Phoenician or the Arizona Biltmore. There was no dedicated bellboy waiting to handle luggage, and turndown service did not happen during our stay. These are the kinds of details that add up when you are spending at the luxury tier.

It is best suited for travelers who want to be in the middle of the Scottsdale energy scene, who value style and location over polished service rituals, and who plan to spend most of their time out exploring the city rather than relaxing on a quiet resort campus. If your priority is location, atmosphere, and walking access to the best shopping and dining in Scottsdale, this is a strong and genuinely fun choice. Just go in with calibrated expectations on the service side.
