Jet boat, monster truck, zipline, white water rafting β€” all in one park, 6 minutes from Cancun airport. Here's what to buy, what to pack, and which rides are actually worth it.

For our recent Cancun trip, we dedicated a full day to Xavage Park by Experiencias Xcaret β€” off-roading, ropes courses, rafting, and extreme outdoor activities all in one place, conveniently located just 6 minutes from the Cancun International Airport.

If you are planning a visit, here is our complete first-hand guide: which ticket to buy, exactly what to pack, how the lockers work, and our honest reviews of every ride.

Basic vs. All-Inclusive: Which Ticket to Buy

We booked through TripAdvisor. You will see two ticket options β€” Basic and All-Inclusive.

Buy the All-Inclusive. The Basic ticket limits your activity access, while All-Inclusive unlocks the Jet Boat, Monster Truck, and Zipline β€” which are the best parts of the park. Both tiers include unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages, so you do not need to bring meals or snacks.

Arrival & Logistics

We visited on a Friday and the park was surprisingly uncrowded.

Parking: Plenty of spots available, and the parking garage even has EV chargers.

Check-In: Head to the main entrance at the "La Isla" building. Show your ticket, get your wristbands, and pick up your helmets.

Pro Tip: Some rides close by 3:00–4:00 PM. Prioritize the major activities early in the day.

What to Pack

You will get wet, muddy, and dusty. Pack accordingly:

  • Sunglasses with a retainer strap β€” I forgot mine and really regretted it. Bring a pair you do not mind getting dirty and clip them with a cheap cable strap so they do not fly off mid-ride.
  • A hat β€” The mandatory park helmets can get stinky. A thin baseball cap underneath makes a big difference.
  • Closed-toe water shoes β€” Required for all rides. Do not wear your nice sneakers; they will get soaked. We bought basic water shoes on Amazon for about $8.
  • A quick-dry travel towel β€” Leave it in your locker for after your final shower. No need to carry it around all day.

How the Lockers Work

When you check in, you receive an Orange Locker Key with a dedicated number. These are located near the shower and changing areas β€” store your dry clothes and towel here for the end of the day.

Throughout the park, Blue Lockers sit right next to individual rides. Drop your phone and shoes before getting on, pick them up when you finish. Note: not every ride has a blue locker (the zipline did not), so you may need to hike back to your orange locker occasionally.

The Rides: Our Honest Rankings

Xflight (Zipline) β€” The Highlight You lay flat on your stomach for a fast drop followed by a long, scenic glide. The only ride we seriously considered doing twice. If you do nothing else here, do this one.

Dragonfly (Jet Boat) β€” A Close Second No GoPros allowed, but it does not matter β€” it is incredibly fast with massive, thrilling spins. A great adrenaline rush.

White Water Rafting β€” Fun for First-Timers Our first time rafting! It is a tamer version of real river rafting, but genuinely fun. English and Spanish safety briefings are offered before you start, and cameras are positioned throughout the course to catch action shots you can purchase after.

Monster Truck Driving β€” Unique but Awkward An experience unlike anything else, and very bumpy. The seats sit far back, making it a bit tough to reach everything. If you have done ATVs before, this feels less thrilling by comparison β€” but still a solid one-time experience.

Ropes Course β€” We Skipped It At 80–90Β°F, there was no way we were climbing ropes in the heat. Save a ropes course for somewhere cooler, like Sedona.

The Food

Filtered water stations are all over the park β€” staying hydrated is easy.

The included buffet is large with a solid variety: fresh fruit, salads, Mexican cuisine, and Western staples like pasta. Honest take: the food is not very good. It gets the job done if you need fuel mid-day, but it is not a reason to stay longer. Smaller snack areas in the middle of the park serve pizza, hot dogs, and quick bites if you just need something fast.

We saved our appetite for a proper dinner off-property β€” read our Cambalache birthday dinner review to see where we went.

Final Verdict

Yes, Xavage Park is worth it β€” especially on the All-Inclusive ticket. For the price, getting to experience this many extreme activities in one safe, organized location is a great deal.

That said, it is a "one and done" experience for us. Once you have done the specific tracks and courses, there is not much reason to return. But if you have a free day in Cancun and want something different from the beach, dedicate a day to it β€” just get there early and hit the zipline first.

After the park, we stayed nearby at the Canopy by Hilton Cancun La Isla β€” a great quick-stay option right in the Hotel Zone.
