Before our Singapore Airlines Business Class flight to Narita, we visited the SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Changi Airport. There are two locations: one in Terminal 2 and one in Terminal 3. We went to Terminal 3, on Level 3 near the A Gates. Here is what we found.
If you are flying Singapore Airlines Business Class and want to know which lounge to prioritize at Changi, this is the one that came up in every conversation we had with fellow travelers. The Terminal 3 SilverKris lounge has a reputation. After visiting it ourselves, we completely understand why.
Access and Getting There
The SilverKris Business Class Lounge at Terminal 3 is open to Singapore Airlines Business Class passengers and KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Elite Silver members. Star Alliance partner Business Class and First Class passengers may also have access depending on their booking, so confirm with your airline if you are flying a partner carrier.
The lounge is on Level 3 near the A Gates. Signage in the terminal is clear, and once you are airside, it is easy to find. The check-in desk at the entrance is efficient, with staff who are genuinely friendly rather than just professionally polite.
The Size
This is one of the largest airport lounges we have ever been in. The directory at the entrance shows just how much space there is: a bar, multiple food stations, lounging areas, showers, and a dedicated kids' playground.
It does get crowded because it is the flagship location. We had to blur a lot of faces in the vlog. But the footprint is genuinely massive, so if you walk toward the back, there are quiet areas and comfortable seating without fighting for a spot.
Outlets and USB ports are built into the seating throughout, which makes it easy to charge up before a long flight. If you need to work before boarding, there is also a quieter workspace area toward the back of the lounge away from the main food and bar area.
The kids' playground is worth mentioning if you are traveling with family. Having a dedicated area for younger travelers means the rest of the lounge stays calm even when the overall crowd level is high.
The Bar
Three bartenders working continuously near the entrance. Complimentary drinks, full service.
Vincent ordered a Singapore Sling. The bartender laughed and told him, "I knew you were going to order a Sling, everyone orders a Sling." It is that kind of place.
And honestly? The Singapore Sling here is excellent. There is something about having it at Changi, in an airport lounge run by Singapore Airlines, with a bartender who has clearly made thousands of them, that makes it taste exactly right. It is the kind of drink that fits the moment perfectly.
Beyond the Sling, they make a good Espresso Martini and a signature SilverKris Special cocktail if you want something different. Wine, beer, and spirits are all available. The bar is fully staffed and never felt understaffed even with steady drink orders coming in.
The Food
Two buffet areas: a smaller station near the bar for quick snacks and drinks, and the main buffet at the far end of the lounge.
The main buffet completely blew us away. We have visited a lot of lounges and eaten at a lot of hotel buffets across Singapore and Malaysia. This was the best lounge food we have eaten anywhere.
Lemongrass chicken satay: The highlight of everything. The softest, juiciest satay. There was nothing like this on the aircraft or anywhere else we had it. The char from the grill was real, the lemongrass flavor came through clearly, and the texture was genuinely restaurant-quality. I went back for a second skewer.
Spicy Mala chicken: Incredibly crunchy and deeply flavored. We joked it tasted like an extremely premium version of a fast food spicy chicken. The Mala seasoning had real heat and numbing spice. If you like bold flavors, this is the dish to prioritize.
The classics: Roasted duck, braised pork, savory eggplant. All excellent. The braised pork in particular was fork-tender and had been cooked long enough that the flavors were deep and rich rather than one-dimensional.
The buffet stations are refreshed regularly by attentive staff. We never saw a dish sitting out long enough to look tired or dried out. For a lounge serving as many passengers as this one does, that consistency is impressive.
Terminal 2 vs. Terminal 3
If you have access to both SilverKris lounges at Changi, here is the honest comparison:
Terminal 3: The flagship experience. Massive scale, full bar, restaurant-quality food spread. If this is your first time in Singapore or your first time in this lounge, come here. It is worth seeing.
Terminal 2: Much smaller, noticeably less crowded. If you want a calm, quiet environment to sit and relax before your flight without crowds, T2 is the better pick. (We also have a separate video covering that lounge.)
The practical answer for most people: if your departure gate is in T3, you should absolutely use this lounge. If your gate is in T2, weigh the trade-off between a calmer lounge and a longer walk back. For us, the food at T3 is worth it every single time.
Tips
- Get the satay. The lemongrass chicken satay is the single best thing in the lounge and possibly one of the best things we have eaten in any lounge anywhere.
- Order the Singapore Sling at the bar. Yes, it is the obvious choice. Yes, it is genuinely good. The bartenders are pros.
- Walk to the back of the lounge for quiet seating. The area near the entrance and bar gets crowded fast.
- Access is through Singapore Airlines Business Class or eligible KrisFlyer status. Star Alliance partner Business and First Class may also qualify.
- The lounge gets busiest during major departure banks. If you arrive during a calmer window, the experience is noticeably more relaxed.
Verdict
The SilverKris Lounge at Changi Terminal 3 is the best lounge experience we have had at any airport. The bar is excellent, the food is genuinely restaurant-quality, and the scale of the space means you can always find a quiet corner even when the overall crowd is high. The lemongrass chicken satay alone justifies the visit. If you are flying Singapore Airlines Business Class through Changi, plan extra time to spend here.
