We recently celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary and wanted to book a special dinner for the occasion. We decided to check out Le Âme, a beautiful French steakhouse and Fox Concept restaurant located inside the stunning new Global Ambassador Hotel.
Because the hotel is so new, there weren't many reviews online yet — but what we saw looked amazing. Luxury hotel dining can sometimes feel overpriced and underwhelming, but this experience completely blew us away. Here is our honest take on the food, the anniversary perks, and why this might be our favorite Fox Concept restaurant in Arizona.
Le Âme is located in Scottsdale inside the Global Ambassador Hotel, which opened relatively recently and quickly established itself as one of the most visually striking hotel properties in the Phoenix metro. Fox Restaurant Concepts has a strong track record in Arizona, and Le Âme feels like one of their most ambitious and refined executions. French steakhouse is a concept that sounds like it should be easy but often feels either too formal to be enjoyable or too casual to justify the price. Le Âme threads that needle well, delivering a genuinely elevated dining experience that does not feel stiff or unapproachable.
The Atmosphere & Anniversary Perks
Book your reservation through their website well in advance.
The reservation process is worth thinking about beyond just securing a table. If you are celebrating a special occasion, the reservation note field is your friend. Adding your occasion there costs nothing and, as we discovered, can meaningfully change your experience.
The "Secret" Perk: If you are celebrating a special occasion, note it on your reservation. We put down that it was our anniversary and the service was incredible — complimentary glasses of rosé to start, a complimentary watermelon dish, and a beautiful anniversary dessert at the end of the night.
We were not expecting any of this. The complimentary rosé arrived before we had even settled into our seats, which immediately set the tone for the evening. The watermelon dish that came out as a complimentary amuse-bouche was light, refreshing, and beautifully presented. And the anniversary dessert at the end of the night — which arrived with a small handwritten note — felt genuinely personal rather than a formulaic hotel gesture. The service team clearly takes the occasion notes seriously.
The room itself is one of the most beautiful dining spaces in Scottsdale. The design has a soft, romantic quality: warm lighting, curved architectural details, a color palette that manages to feel both French-inspired and distinctly Southwestern without being heavy-handed about either. It is the kind of room where you look around mid-meal and appreciate that someone thought carefully about every detail.
The Menu: Not overwhelmingly large, which we love. A curated selection of high-quality proteins and French-inspired sides.
A focused menu is almost always a better sign than a sprawling one at a fine dining restaurant. It signals that the kitchen has thought carefully about what they do best and made intentional decisions about what belongs. At Le Âme, the menu feels edited in the best sense. You are not overwhelmed with options, but you are also not left wishing for something different.
The Appetizers: Do Not Skip the Onion Dip
French Onion Dip: Absolutely next level. Served with homemade, thick-cut potato chips — the dip is incredibly rich and flavorful. You must order this.
I cannot overstate how good this appetizer is. "French onion dip" sounds like something from a party platter, but what Le Âme does with this concept is completely different. The caramelized onion base is deeply savory and slightly sweet, with a richness that coats every chip perfectly. The thick-cut potato chips are made in-house and have a substantial crunch that holds up to the generous dipping. This is one of those dishes that becomes the thing you talk about after the meal, even at a table full of excellent food.
The Leftover Hack: We had so much dip left over that they offered to pack it up and gave us a fresh box of chips to take home. We ate it for breakfast the next morning and it was just as good.
The fact that we ate French Onion Dip from Le Âme the morning after our anniversary dinner, for breakfast, while still in bed at the Global Ambassador, is the kind of detail that defines a perfect anniversary trip. We had no shame about it and would do it again.
The Main Courses: Truffle Chicken & Short Rib
We skipped the ultra-expensive steaks and went for their more affordable, unique protein options instead.
This was a deliberate decision. The steaks at Le Âme are exceptional from what we heard from other tables, but they come at a price point that pushes the bill significantly higher. By choosing the chicken and the short rib instead, we were able to order more of the table overall and leave less full of regret about the final check.
Truffle Roasted Chicken: Unbelievable. The skin was perfectly crispy, the meat incredibly juicy and soft. Vincent said it was better than the chicken we had at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. The truffle flavor is strong but perfectly balanced.
The truffle roasted chicken at Le Âme is the kind of dish that makes you understand why chefs get excited about a simple protein prepared with exceptional technique. Getting a chicken breast this juicy while also achieving a crispy skin requires precise temperature management and timing. The truffle adds a luxurious, earthy depth that elevates the entire experience without turning the dish into something that tastes primarily of truffle oil. The balance is exactly right. Vincent's comparison to Gordon Ramsay's chicken was not made lightly, and I agreed with him completely.
Short Rib Bourguignon: So tender the meat literally fell apart the moment we touched it with a fork. A very rich, comforting dish.
Short rib Bourguignon is the French steakhouse equivalent of a warm blanket. The braising liquid transforms into a sauce that is deeply savory, slightly winey, and intensely comforting. The meat at this level of preparation does not need a knife. It yielded completely at the lightest pressure, which is a sign that the kitchen has either braised it for a very long time or has exceptional technique, likely both. Rich food done this well feels celebratory in a way that lighter dishes do not. For an anniversary dinner, it was the right choice.
Creamed Spinach: Ordered as a side — massive portion, perfectly creamy, and paired beautifully with both the chicken and the short rib.
The creamed spinach is a supporting player that earns its spot on the table. The portion was large enough to serve comfortably as a shared side for two main dishes, the cream sauce was properly seasoned, and it provided a rich, green counterbalance to both the truffle chicken and the braised short rib. It also acted as a vehicle for any remaining sauce on either plate, which is a practical benefit that elevated our experience of both mains.
The Vibe: Who Is Le Âme Good For?
Le Âme is excellent for a romantic dinner for two, an anniversary, a birthday, or any occasion where you want to invest in a genuinely elevated evening. The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful, the service is attentive without being intrusive, and the menu is refined enough to feel special without being impenetrable.
For groups larger than four, the more intimate dining room configuration may feel a little snug. This is a restaurant designed for couples and small tables. It is also worth noting that the French steakhouse concept skews toward meat-centric proteins, so if someone in your party is vegetarian or vegan, the menu options are more limited.
Price range: upscale to fine dining. At around $139 before tip for two people with complimentary rosé and dessert factored in, the value is genuinely exceptional for this tier of restaurant. Without the anniversary perks, the bill would have been higher, but even at full price the portion sizes and quality justify the spend.

Final Thoughts & Budget Tips
Our total came to $139 before tip. For a 5-star hotel restaurant, considering the massive portion sizes, the complimentary rosé, and the free anniversary dessert, we felt this was an incredible deal. We left completely stuffed and never felt pressured to order more.
Pro tip: If you park in the hotel's parking garage, bring your ticket inside — the restaurant will validate it so you don't pay for parking.
Le Âme exceeded all of our expectations. We can't wait to go back.
If there is one restaurant in Scottsdale that we would recommend without any qualification for a special occasion dinner, Le Âme is currently it. The French onion dip alone is reason to visit. The truffle chicken is a must-order. The service, particularly if you flag a special occasion, is some of the most thoughtful and gracious we have experienced at any Fox Concept restaurant in Arizona. We left happy, full, and already planning our return.
