Vegas Strip Restaurants We Tried: The Ones We Loved and the Ones We Didn’t Like

The Las Vegas Strip is known for its diverse and extravagant dining options. During our visit, we explored several spots—some we absolutely loved, while others didn’t quite live up to the hype. Here’s our honest take on the restaurants we tried.

The Ones We Loved

1. Best Friend by Roy Choi

Location: Park MGM
Honestly, as a Korean, I was hesitant to visit because I had a hard time justifying paying $20 for Kimchi Fried Rice. However, I’m so glad we tried this place because it was amazing! Best Friend is where Korean flavors meet LA street food in a colorful, upbeat setting. Chef Roy Choi’s dishes like Korean BBQ short ribs and spicy ramen were bursting with flavor. The playful decor and hip-hop soundtrack added to the fun experience. We’d go back in a heartbeat! Next time, we definitely want to try the Chef Menu, which includes a variety of Korean banchan and his signature dishes.

Recommended Dishes: Kimchi Fried Rice, Chego Pork Bowl, Korean Wings
Tips: This place gets super busy, so make sure to make a reservation. If you can’t, try going at opening hours.

2. Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen

Location: Caesars Palace
Step into the fiery world of “Hell’s Kitchen” and enjoy a dining experience inspired by the hit TV show. From the Beef Wellington to the Sticky Toffee Pudding, every dish reflects Gordon Ramsay’s culinary excellence. The open kitchen design adds excitement as you watch the chefs in action. A must-try for fans of Ramsay!

Recommended Dishes: Beef Wellington, Sticky Toffee Pudding

3. Gordon Ramsay Burger

Location: Planet Hollywood Las Vegas
We know everyone says, “A burger is just a burger, why spend money on it?” However, if you’re craving a gourmet burger, Gordon Ramsay Burger is the spot. The truffle fries and boozy milkshakes were fantastic accompaniments to their juicy, flavorful burgers. It’s a casual but elevated option we thoroughly enjoyed.

Recommended Dish: Hell’s Kitchen Burger
Tips: If you’re debating between Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill and Gordon Ramsay Burger, we highly recommend Gordon Ramsay Burger. However, if you’re also craving Sticky Toffee Pudding, visit another Gordon Ramsay restaurant to elevate the experience.

4. Ramsay’s Kitchen

Location: Harrah’s Las Vegas
This restaurant is fairly new compared to other Gordon Ramsay restaurants. We personally really loved the dishes, and the Beef Wellington here is slightly different from the one at Hell’s Kitchen. If Hell’s Kitchen is booked, check Ramsay’s Kitchen. The atmosphere is amazing, and the food was equally impressive.

Recommended Dish: Beef Wellington
Tips: Want Sticky Toffee Pudding only? Eat at the bar!

5. Momofuku

Location: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
We didn’t have high expectations for Momofuku, as we hadn’t had great Asian fine dining experiences lately. However, Momofuku’s food was amazing! David Chang’s innovative Asian-American flavors impressed us. The pork belly buns and spicy ramen were perfectly executed, making this a standout meal.

Recommended Dishes: Pork Belly Bun, Spicy Cucumbers, Spicy Miso Ramen
Tips: Make a reservation.

6. The Steak House

Location: Circus Circus
You might be wondering, Circus Circus?! Known for its old-school charm, The Steak House served perfectly grilled steaks. It’s not the most pleasant place to walk into compared to other upscale hotel restaurants, but it offers one of the best steaks at a reasonable price.

Recommended Dishes: Dry-Aged Steak, Wedge Salad, Mashed Potatoes
Tips: Portions are big, so consider sharing one small dish and a steak between two people.

7. Tacos El Gordo

Location: Near Hilton Conrad Las Vegas Hotel
This was hands-down the most delicious taco we’ve ever eaten! We loved the carne asada tacos. Unfortunately, the chorizo tacos were too dry, so we didn’t enjoy those.

Recommended Dish: Carne Asada Taco
Tips: Skip the horchata, as it’s just a fountain drink, not made in-house.

8. Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill

Location: Caesars Palace
If you’re looking for an affordable and casual Gordon Ramsay dining experience, this is the place. Compared to other Gordon Ramsay restaurants, it’s not our favorite, but you can still enjoy the famous Sticky Toffee Pudding and other signature dishes.

Recommended Dishes: Idiot Sandwich (FYI, it’s greasy), Sticky Toffee Pudding
Tips: Make a reservation.

Mixed Feelings

1. Wicked Spoon

Location: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
We’re not huge fans of buffets, especially when we could try unique and innovative dishes at other culinary restaurants in Vegas. For the price, you can get a better meal elsewhere. Yes, they have crab legs, but other than that, there aren’t many standout dishes. We’d recommend trying other spots.

2. Yellowtail

Location: Bellagio Hotel & Casino
Honestly, their dishes didn’t really impress us, and we didn’t expect much either. The sushi was good, but for the price, we’d rather go to another Japanese sushi restaurant (not all-you-can-eat) for better quality. That said, they have an amazing terrace view of the Bellagio fountains, where you can enjoy the water show while dining.

Plan Your Culinary Adventure

Exploring the Las Vegas Strip’s dining scene is an adventure in itself. From iconic fine dining establishments to casual bites, these restaurants offered a mix of unforgettable highlights and a few misses. Which of these will you try on your next Vegas trip?
