Singapore Airlines Business Class: A Night Flight from Singapore to Narita, Japan

Flying business class on Singapore Airlines from Singapore to Narita, Japan, was an unforgettable experience! In this post, we’ll dive into every detail of our flight, from the airport lounge to the in-flight service, and everything in between.

The Journey Begins: Exploring Changi Airport

This was my first time visiting Singapore, and I was blown away by Changi Airport. It’s more than just an airport—it’s an experience. Clean, modern, and filled with shopping and dining options, we arrived early to explore its wonders before our midnight flight.

One major perk of flying Singapore Airlines Business Class is access to the SilverKris Lounge. Experiencing this iconic lounge in its home city felt extra special. From spicy mala chicken to lemongrass chicken skewers, the food was incredible. The bartender even joked about their popular Singapore Sling, which, of course, we had to try. Boarding: Settling into Our Seats

We were seated in Row 20, the very last row of the business class cabin. Surprisingly, there were no disadvantages to being at the back. The business class cabin on this flight had 36 seats in total and didn’t include a first-class section.

Our seats were spacious, with ample room to stretch out, and were equipped with thoughtful touches like reading lights, USB ports, and an international outlet. The in-flight entertainment system was smooth and lag-free, offering a wide selection of movies and shows.

Singapore Airlines also provides each passenger with noise-canceling headphones, a pillow, a blanket, and an amenity kit upon request. The amenity kit, a Penhaligon’s-branded bag, included lotion, lip balm, facial mist, and even a handy clear zip bag. A luxurious touch we appreciated!

Comfort and Dining: Business Class Essentials

The comfort of Singapore Airlines is unmatched. The blanket was fluffy and odor-free, and even Vinny, at 5’8”, found plenty of legroom.

We pre-selected our meals ahead of the flight. I chose the Burmese dry-style noodles, which had a surprising sour note, and the beef rendang, one of my all-time favorites. While the noodle texture was perfect, the flavor wasn’t quite what I expected. That said, I found myself wanting to keep eating it—it was strangely addictive! Vinny agreed it was “interesting” but not a top pick.

Although the food fell short of our expectations (especially given we were flying out of Singapore), the service was fantastic. The flight attendants were attentive, offering hot towels and beverages to keep us comfortable throughout the flight.

The Perks of Flying Smart

You might be wondering how we manage to fly business class so frequently without breaking the bank. The secret? Vinny’s meticulous research into airline deals and miles. For this flight, we paid less than $100 for both of us combined! If you’re interested in tips for flying premium cabins on a budget, Vinny has his full video here.

Overall Thoughts

Our flight from Singapore to Narita was smooth, comfortable, and memorable. While the dining experience left room for improvement, the luxurious seating, attentive service, and thoughtful amenities more than made up for it. We even managed to get some decent sleep during the short 7-hour flight.

What’s Next?

After arriving in Japan, we spent a whirlwind 36 hours exploring Tokyo, enjoying delicious food, and participating in a traditional tea ceremony.
