Hey there, welcome back to the channel! Today, we’re excited to share our incredible experience flying first class with Singapore Airlines, from Narita Airport (Japan) to LAX (Los Angeles). This was actually our second time flying first class with Singapore Airlines, and trust me, it was just as memorable as the first!
We had initially planned to fly business class, but luck and a bit of strategy changed our plans. If you’re curious about how we managed to snag those first-class tickets at an unbelievable price, be sure to check out Vinny’s channel, where he shares all his insider tips and tricks!
Pre-Flight: Relaxing at the ANA Suite Lounge
As first-class passengers, we had access to the ANA Suite Lounge at Narita, which is one of the perks of being part of the Star Alliance network. It was the perfect spot to unwind before our flight. We grabbed a light dinner, enjoyed a relaxing shower, and soaked in the calm atmosphere. If you’re interested in what the ANA Suite Lounge offers, be sure to check out our dedicated blog post below:
The First Class Seat: A World of Comfort
Once we boarded, we were escorted to our seats. There are just four first-class seats on this Singapore Airlines flight, making the cabin feel incredibly exclusive. I was seated at 1F by the window, while Vinny took the middle seat at 1D. The seats were luxurious, with numerous buttons to control lighting, seat position, and even the call button for the flight attendants.
We also had a handy storage compartment, perfect for keeping our personal items like socks, slippers, and eye patches. Speaking of which, Singapore Airlines provides excellent amenity kits—mine was a lovely ladies’ version, complete with a mirror, perfume, lip balm, and body lotion. Vinny’s came in a sleek black kit. Both sets were high-quality, and it was clear that Singapore Airlines doesn’t skimp on the little details.
Restroom: Bigger and Better Than Business Class
The first-class restroom was spacious and had more amenities than the business class restrooms I’ve experienced. They provided premium toiletries, including body lotion, facial mist, perfume, and soap. There was also a full-length mirror, making it easy to freshen up during the flight.
Dining in the Sky: A Culinary Delight
When it comes to food, Singapore Airlines never disappoints. The meals were nothing short of spectacular. For the appetizer, I had marinated scallops with caviar and a light soup, while Vinny went for caviar with blinis and condiments. For the main course, I chose baked lobster with cream cheese, which was divine, while Vinny opted for the Japanese option: grilled miso black cod (Gindara Syu Yaki) with vegetables and rice. We ended the meal with a delicious chestnut-flavored green tea Mont Blanc for dessert.
After a quick nap, we woke up for lunch. I went for a hearty Sukiyaki with Japanese beef, rice, and vegetables, while Vinny enjoyed Kakuni, a Japanese-style braised pork belly with rice. Dessert was a fruit tart with condensed milk—a little sweet, but still delicious.

The Bed: A Touch of Luxury
After dinner, the flight attendants set up our beds, which was a real treat. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the thicker bed pad made a big difference. Singapore Airlines really knows how to make a long flight feel luxurious.
Service & Special Touches: A Honeymoon to Remember
What made this experience extra special was the cabin crew’s attention to detail. They even celebrated our honeymoon with us, which was a very thoughtful touch. Throughout the flight, the service was impeccable, and every meal was served with a smile.
In addition, once we arrived at LAX, we were pleasantly surprised by the VIP treatment. A staff member was waiting to escort us to baggage claim and assist with our luggage—something that’s quite rare in the U.S., but definitely a first-class perk.
Final Thoughts
All in all, our flight with Singapore Airlines was an unforgettable experience. From the exceptional service to the gourmet meals and luxurious amenities, it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime journey (even though this was our second time flying first class with them!). The only thing we noticed was that the service and food were even better when flying from Singapore, so if you’re debating between flying from the USA or Singapore, keep that in mind.
