If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up to the iconic Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas, this review is for you. On our latest Vegas trip, Vinny and I finally checked into the legendary Bellagio Hotel & Casino. We’ll cover everything from our fountain view Stay Well Premier room to dining at Yellowtail and Sadelle’s, plus the perks of booking through the Marriott Stars program.
The Iconic Bellagio Las Vegas
Bellagio is a five-star luxury resort located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Known for its elegant Italian-inspired design, world-class dining, and of course, the famous Bellagio fountains, this hotel has long been a bucket-list stay for many visitors. Unlike trendier resorts, Bellagio keeps a classic and timeless luxury vibe.
The property features two towers — the main tower and the spa tower — as well as seasonal displays at the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens that draw crowds year-round.
For us, staying in a fountain view room was a dream come true.
Checking In: Marriott Stars Upgrade
We arrived around 2:30 PM and, as expected, the lobby was buzzing with long lines. Thankfully, Vinny’s Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status gave us access to priority check-in. Since we booked through the Marriott Stars program, we also asked about upgrades.
We were upgraded to a Stay Well Premier King Fountain View Room on the 23rd floor — not a suite, but still a beautiful step up. The room rate was around $228/night before taxes and resort fees, which felt like great value considering the location and perks.
Room Tour: Stay Well Premier Fountain View
The highlight was the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the fountains. Watching the choreographed water show right from bed was surreal.
Room Features We Loved:
- King Bed & Bedding: Firm yet comfortable mattress with plush pillows — much better sleep compared to our stay at Cosmopolitan.
- Air Purifier: As part of the Stay Well upgrade, the room included an air purifier that helped keep the space fresh.
- Automatic Drapery Controls: One touch controlled both blackout curtains and sheers.
- Work & Lounge Area: Small table with outlets, a chic sofa, and ottoman for relaxing.
- Closet Amenities: Slippers, robes, safe, and iron provided.
- Bathroom: Spacious with dual sinks, a deep walk-in shower, and Toto toilet (though no partition for privacy). Toiletries were lavender-scented and refreshing.
The mini-bar was fully stocked with sensor-based snacks and drinks, though we stuck to our own $3.50 Coke instead of the $13 Bellagio version!
Amenities: Fitness Center & Pool
Bellagio’s fitness center was large and functional, though the equipment felt dated compared to Cosmopolitan’s sleek Technogym machines. Still, it offered everything you’d need, plus a stretching room and plenty of cardio equipment overlooking the pool.
The pool area is another Bellagio highlight, with multiple pools surrounded by palm trees, creating a resort-like escape from the Strip.
Dining at Bellagio: Yellowtail & Sadelle’s
We received a $100 dining credit through Marriott Stars and decided to use it at Yellowtail, Akira Back’s Japanese restaurant inside Bellagio.
Yellowtail Quick Review:
- Toro Scallion Roll: Fresh and flavorful.
- Unagi Roll: Soft texture, though smaller in portion.
- Rock Shrimp Tempura: Just okay, a bit basic.
- Service: Even though dishes were delayed, the staff comped some items — a nice surprise!
For breakfast, our daily $60 credit was used at Sadelle’s, one of the most popular breakfast spots in Vegas. Reservations are a must due to long lines, but we loved it:
- Salmon Benedict: Possibly the best we’ve ever had.
- Roast Chicken: Juicy, flavorful, and reasonably priced for Vegas.
- Grapefruit Crème Brûlée: Unique and refreshing.
- Coffee & Pastries: Delicious, and the restaurant’s chic decor made the experience even better.
Marriott Stars Program Perks at Bellagio
Booking through Marriott Stars gave us:
- Room Upgrade: To Stay Well Premier (when available).
- Daily Breakfast for Two: $30 per person credit.
- $100 Experience Credit: Usable across 120 MGM restaurants, bars, and lounges.
- Reduced Resort Fee: From $55 down to $50.
- Early Check-In & Late Check-Out: We got early check-in and a 3 PM checkout.
- Free Wi-Fi.
With Vinny’s Platinum status, we also received an extra $15 food & beverage credit. In total, we saved and earned over $175 in credits during our stay.
Pros & Cons of Staying at Bellagio
✅ What We Loved:
- Fountain view room was unforgettable
- Comfortable bed and bedding
- Great dining options (Sadelle’s is a must!)
- Marriott Stars perks added big value
- Classic luxury design still feels modern
❌ What Could Be Better:
- Fitness center equipment is outdated
- Soundproofing wasn’t the best (we could hear neighboring guests)
- No privacy partition in the bathroom
- Mini-bar prices are outrageous ($13 Coke!)
Final Thoughts: Is Bellagio Worth It?
Yes — especially if you can snag a fountain view Stay Well room. While Bellagio may not be the trendiest property in Las Vegas, its classic charm, luxurious touches, and incredible location make it a worthy stay.
Would we return? Absolutely — but we’d make sure to reserve Sadelle’s ahead of time and avoid the mini-bar!
If you’re planning a Vegas trip, booking through Marriott Stars is highly recommended for the added perks.
