ANA Lounge at Narita Airport: A Cozy Layover with Food, Comfort, and Refreshing Amenities

If you’re planning a layover in Narita Airport Terminal 1, especially with ANA, you’re in for a treat! In this post, we’ll take you through our time at the ANA Lounge, located by Gate 59. Whether you’re there for the ramen, a quiet spot to relax, or a refreshing shower, this lounge has a little something for everyone. Here’s everything you need to know about making the most of this lounge experience.

Location and Access

The ANA Lounge is conveniently located in Terminal 1 near Gate 59. Once you arrive, take the escalator to the lounge level. Flying in ANA Business Class gave us access to this space, which includes both the main ANA Lounge and the exclusive ANA Suite Lounge. If you’re flying ANA Business Class, it’s worth it to stop by for a relaxing layover.

Ambiance and Initial Impressions

As you enter, the lounge greets you with a modern design featuring cozy seating and a bustling atmosphere, especially around the main buffet area. There are different seating options, but finding an open spot during busy times can be tricky. For a quieter experience, head to the second buffet area. Although it doesn’t have windows for plane-watching, it’s far less crowded and provides a peaceful escape.

Dining Options: Food and Drink Highlights

The ANA Lounge is known for its extensive food and beverage offerings, and it didn’t disappoint. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Main Buffet: Offers a variety of dishes like chicken karaage, takoyaki, and onigiri. The flavors are delicious, though some items (like the takoyaki) might not always be as fresh due to high turnover.
  • Noodle Station: Use the kiosk to order ramen, which is prepared fresh for you. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal.
  • Beverages: You’ll find green tea, juices, Pepsi Zero, and an array of alcoholic drinks like Japanese beer, wine, and cold sake.
  • Desserts and Snacks: Don’t miss the dessert section, complete with cream puffs, pastries, and candy. There’s even a selection of jams and packaged snacks you can take with you.

For those looking to unwind over a quiet meal, we recommend heading to the secondary buffet area. It has the same food options but with fewer people and a calmer vibe.

Rest and Relaxation Amenities

The lounge offers more than just food. After a long flight, the relaxation facilities were a real highlight.

  • Massage Chairs: Located near the second buffet area, there are massage chairs available, though one was out of service during our visit.
  • Shower Rooms: The shower area is a unique experience. To reserve a shower, enter your phone number at the kiosk, and you’ll receive a text when it’s your turn. The showers are well-equipped, providing sealed towels, slippers, a toothbrush, and skincare products. The spacious shower area even features an analog clock, a Dyson fan, and top-notch toiletries, perfect for refreshing yourself before the next leg of your journey.
  • Restrooms: The restrooms include everything from a facial cleanser to a zoom-in mirror, along with a fitting room. Thoughtful touches like a shoehorn and fabric spray are provided for added convenience.
