Review of the ANA Suite Lounge at Narita Airport Terminal 1 in Japan

Welcome to our blog! Today, we’re sharing our detailed experience at the ANA Suite Lounge located in Narita Airport’s Terminal 1, near Gate 59. From food options to shower facilities, here’s everything you need to know about this exclusive lounge.

Access to the ANA Suite Lounge

As part of our Singapore Airlines First Class experience, we gained access to the ANA Suite Lounge. The entrance is marked by a charming red carpet, and there’s a dedicated check-in area for first-class passengers. It’s an elegant touch that sets the tone for the exclusivity of this space.

Atmosphere and Ambience

While the Suite Lounge is noticeably less crowded than the regular ANA Lounge, the overall atmosphere and aesthetic feel quite similar. If you’re expecting an ultra-luxurious experience, you might find it a little underwhelming. That said, the standout feature is the attentive staff, who are always nearby to assist with any needs.

Food and Beverages

The lounge features a small buffet with a decent selection of drinks, including sake, wine, liquor, and beer. When it comes to food, the buffet offers light bites like sandwiches, salads, and finger foods. However, the options aren’t drastically different from those in the regular lounge, and the presentation felt a bit lackluster.

The highlight of the dining experience is the à la carte menu, which you can access by scanning a QR code after connecting to the lounge’s Wi-Fi. We tried the sushi, udon, and ANA’s original chicken curry. The curry was flavorful, though we found the udon slightly salty, and the sushi was just okay.

One surprise treat was a simple yet satisfying baguette with chocolate. It may sound basic, but the taste was unexpectedly delightful—a testament to the power of high-quality ingredients.

Shower Facilities

The shower area, located near the lounge entrance, requires advance reservation via a kiosk. Simply enter your phone number, and you’ll receive a text when your shower is ready.

The shower experience stands out for its thoughtful amenities. Each guest receives a sealed toiletry kit containing a towel, toothbrush, comb, cotton items, and slippers. The spacious shower area also includes high-end skincare products, a Dyson hairdryer, and even a shoe horn—little details that reflect Japanese hospitality.

Final Thoughts

While the ANA Suite Lounge offers a pleasant experience, it didn’t wow us. If you already have access to the regular ANA Lounge, you’re not missing much by skipping the Suite Lounge. The main differences are the quieter environment and the à la carte dining options, but even these weren’t remarkable enough to make a strong impression.

The shower facilities are shared between the Suite and regular lounges, so there’s no exclusivity there either. On a positive note, we only waited about 10 minutes for a shower, though we’ve seen reports of longer wait times online.

If you’re flying first class, the Suite Lounge is a nice perk, but don’t expect it to redefine your travel experience.

Would We Recommend It?

If you’re curious and have access, it’s worth a visit, especially for the quieter atmosphere and à la carte menu. However, if you’re on a tight schedule, the regular lounge will serve you just as well.
